An Australian tourist has been arrested after allegedly stealing from a Thailand shopping mall.

Police allege 25-year-old Liam Allan Lakeman shoplifted from the Central Phuket mall three times before being caught on November 1.

CCTV taken from inside a sports merchandise store shows the Melbourne tourist allegedly taking a football jersey and hiding it under his shirt.

Local authorities claim he fled the scene after being confronted by the store’s owner for reportedly wearing a shirt that had been stolen in the days prior.
