The president of the Toronto Blue Jays is thanking fans for their support during a “remarkable journey” and unforgettable baseball season.

“Your energy, your love, your hopes and belief reached our players and lifted us all,” said Mark Shapiro in a statement posted to social media on Wednesday afternoon.

“We heard you. We felt you,” Shapiro said. “None of us will ever forget what that coast-to-coast-to-coast support meant or how it felt.”

Shapiro said the fans’ passion inspired the team in key moments, especially in beating the New York Yankees to win the American League division series and the Seattle Mariners to win the American League East title.
