CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Travelers across the country are bracing for major cancellations at the airport.
As the longest government shutdown in history continues, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced on Wednesday, Nov. 5, that it’s cutting flights at major airports -- including Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Many flights took off and landed as scheduled in Charlotte on Thursday morning. Friday is when the cuts were said to begin.
“It’s just difficult to understand how they just can’t figure this out. It’s going to impact everybody,” said passenger Derrick Floyd.
“We actually have tons of volleyball travel plans. So everything wraps around that,” said Jon Carfagno. “We’ll do a lot of traveling. Keeping an eye on things then for sure.”
