Troops in Japan were deployed to Japan's mountainous region in the North of the country after more than 100 people were attacked in a wave of bear attacks since April and a record 12 people were killed. Residents in the town of Kazuno, Akita Prefecture have been told to stay home after dark and walk with bells to ward off the bears. The troops there will trap the bears, which will later be killed by skilled hunters.
