COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - On Wednesday, the City of College Station officially received state recognition as a certified tourism-friendly community.

The esteemed designation from the Governor’s Office acknowledges the city’s dedicated efforts in fostering a welcoming environment for visitors and the significant economic contributions tourism brings to the community.

“It’s really a recognition from the state of Texas and the office of the government of those efforts and all the things that tourism helps bring to the community,” Madeline Phillips with Travel Texas said.

The recognition underscores a city-wide commitment to hospitality and highlights Visit College Station’s continuous work to elevate the city’s profile on a larger scale.
