The fire on Fitchville Road in Bozrah early Wednesday morning was fatal, according to state police.

State police said they are investigating and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working on identifying the person who died.

Fire officials said they responded to the home around 3:38 a.m. Wednesday and found both the home and detached garage on fire.

They said one person who was believed to have been home when the fire started was unaccounted for and calls to the phone went to voicemail.
