The Boston Red Sox did everything in their power to win the Alex Bregman free agency sweepstakes last offseason, and it worked out in their favor. The Red Sox landed Bregman, but they had to give him an opt-out clause to do so.

Now Bregman has used that opt-out clause and hit free agency again. The Red Sox are going to need to do everything in their power again if they want to retain the star.

ESPN's Kiley McDaniel recently projected the All-Star would sign a five-year, $160 million contract in free agency this offseason.
