NAPOLEON — As the often undermanned Napoleon football team went toe-to-toe with larger schools behind a formidable run game, the Wildcats’ confidence continued to grow.

Napoleon, the smallest school in the Northern Lakes League in terms of enrollment, won the NLL Cardinal Division title with a 4-0 record.

The Wildcats (8-2) have won seven games in a row and earned a first-round bye in the Division IV playoffs. Every team on Napoleon's regular-season schedule competes in larger divisions, including seven Division II schools.

Napoleon, which has averaged 27.0 points and 272 rushing yards per game, has wins over D-II schools Springfield, Fremont Ross, and Clay.
