Springfield police arrest 13 in large cocaine trafficking bust

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Police Department arrested 14 suspects during a search of an apartment on Orange Street in Springfield.

The Springfield Police Department states that over the past several months, Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) detectives have been investigating an apartment on the 200 block of Orange Street for the the illegal distribution of crack-cocaine.

Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for the apartment this week. When the search warrant was conducted, detectives detained 14 suspects. One of the suspects was later released and will receive a criminal complaint.

During the apartment search, approximately 130 grams of powder and crack-cocaine, 384 bags of heroin, a loaded illegal firearm, 16 rounds of various lo
