Two Seaside Heights man were arrested and charged following an investigation into the illegal possession and distribution of firearms in Ocean County, authorities announced Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Michael Daluesio, 43, was offering to sell a handgun in echange for narcotics, driving around Lakewood in a rented vehicle, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Nathan Miller, 31, was a passenger in the vehicle as investigators conducted surveillance, Billhimer said.
Daluesio traveled to a public park, exited his car and entered a portable toilet, Billhimer said. Miller was detained while Daluesio was in the bathroom, Billhimer said.
Authorities detained Daluesio when he exited the bathroom and found a 9 mm handgun and loose ammunition in a paper bag while searching the portable toilet, Billhimer said. The handgun had been stolen from Alabama, Billhimer said.
A search of a Toms River storage unit owned by Miller turned up drug paraphernalia and an additional handgun stolen from Alabama, Billhimer said.
Daluesio and Miller were hit with numerous drugs and weapons charges, Billhimer said.
