Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle is asking fans to support the Children's Home Society of North Carolina via GoFundMe as a "response" to him getting fined by the NFL.
After Dowdle recreated a slightly NSFW Key & Peele sketch on a Sunday touchdown celebration at Green Bay, the NFL fined the breakout Panthers running back.
Dowdle reacted to said fine by saying he was going to set up a GoFundMe, which ended up hitting the giving platform but as a way for fans to support a charity organization in North Carolina.
"After much thought I've launched a GoFundMe for my fines. Key said I got three pumps but I guess the NFL disagrees," Dowdle wrote on the GoFundMe page.
"Actually, 100% of what is raised through this fundraiser will be sent to Children's Home Society of North Carolina. Children's Home Society promotes the right of every child to a permanent, safe, and loving family. They specialize in education and prevention programs, family preservation, and adoption and foster care."
This is a pretty awesome way for Dowdle to take a funny viral moment and turn it into something great.
