OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A former South Carolina trooper who was arrested in the death of a 4-year-old boy requested bond again during a hearing on Thursday.
Joshua Latimer and Destiny Dionne were charged with homicide by child abuse in September after EMS was called to a home near Walhalla for a patient in cardiac arrest.
A 4-year-old boy, Isaiah Joseph Dionne, was found cold to the touch. The coroner said Isaiah was malnourished and ruled his death a homicide.
Prosecutors said first responders were shocked by Isaiah’s condition.
He had reportedly been forced to sleep on a blanket on the floor instead of a bed. The curtains in his room were stapled shut, and it appeared he had been locked in a closet.
