Maricopa County Elections update shows less than 1% of votes separating ‘yes’ from ‘no’

The Election Day ballot question of continuing the maintenance and operations budget override in Deer Valley Unified School District continues to show a razor thin margin two days later.

With a new update released by Maricopa County Elections Wednesday evening, the “yes” vote on the M&O override holds a slight 50.98% to 49.02% margin, with a current difference of just 799 votes.

Out of more than 41,000 ballots cast, “yes” votes are marginally outpacing the “no” votes by 20,740 to 19,941.

The same M&O override initiative failed at the ballot box the past two consecutive Novembers, in 2024 and 2023.

One year ago almost to the day, voters turned away the override continuation by a 53% to 47% margin. I
