Aditi Mishra won the President post of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU). She defeated ABVP’s Vikas Patel, who secured 1,447 votes.
Mishra hails from Varanasi, is an activist from the All India Students’ Association, and is part of the Left Unity panel.
Aditi was a student activist since the beginning of her undergraduate college life at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2017. She participated in a protest against the university administration, demanding the withdrawal of the women’s hostel curfew timings.
Aditi later enrolled in Pondicherry University in 2018. After witnessing saffronisation, she opposed it and gheraoed the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
