Georgia State Patrol Post 24 reported a slight increase in traffic crashes in October, though the month saw fewer DUI arrests and speeding citations compared to September.

Troopers from Post 24 in Newnan investigated 195 crashes in October, resulting in 87 injuries and no fatalities, according to Sergeant First Class Mike Searcy. The number of crashes rose from 204 in September, which resulted in 86 injuries and no fatalities.

Traffic enforcement activity also reflected month-to-month shifts. Troopers conducted 884 traffic stops in October, down from 1,165 in September. They issued 476 citations last month, compared to 498 citations the month prior.
