Moviegoers north of the river will soon be able to experience the latest blockbusters in IMAX once again after a major refurbishment at Event Cinemas Innaloo has introduced several new screening formats.

The new IMAX Laser theatre will feature a 4K projection system and is set to open in time for the December 19 release of Avatar: Fire and Ash.

The new laser system is expected to deliver brighter images, increased resolution, deeper contrast, and a wider range of colours, typically seen only on IMAX screens.

Hoyts Carousel in Cannington also recently announced it will be getting a 4K Laser IMAX, which is scheduled to open in mid-December.
