A marketing campaign planned for Fremantle businesses will ignore the elephant in the room and not mention the closure of a key access point to the region.

Traffic chaos and limited access are expected when the Fremantle Traffic Bridge closes next year so a replacement can be built.

The State Government will be rolling out more train and bus services to try to keep Stirling Highway moving, and there will be a free public transport travel zone along South Terrace between Douro Road and the Fremantle Station.

The City of Fremantle is now rolling out a grants program for small businesses while the bridge is closed.

It is intended to help small businesses market themselves as part of a campaign to remind greater Perth that Fremantle will still be open for business.
