SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A program meant to ensure that students attending Bethune Oak Park Elementary School will be "Full for the Holidays" needs community members to assist them in fulfilling its mission.
The initiative aims to provide access to meals that are both easy to prepare and nutritious.
Program coordinator LaShaunda Pouncy said in a news release, "Many of our children may not have consistent access to full meals while away from school, and microwaveable foods can make a big difference in meeting their needs."
The program is requesting donations of microwaveable food items. These items can include, but are not limited to: single-serve macaroni and cheese, soups, pasta bowls, oatmeal cups, or noodles. Any simple meal that a child can heat safely and efficiently without a
