CHARLESTON — The Halloween disappearance of College of Charleston student Owen Tillman Kenney has captured attention from New Jersey to South Carolina and beyond.

Kenney, 19, was reported missing Nov. 1 . Originally his friends reported last seeing him around 2 a.m. in the area of King Street and Burns Lane on Oct. 31, according to a statement from the Charleston Police Department.

However, later police statements reported that he was last seen walking alone onto the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian walkway shortly after 3 a.m.

In addition to local and state authorities, police in his home state of New Jersey along with the FBI are assisting with the search.

Kenney is from Tinton Falls, N.J. He graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School in 2024.
