The Padres are hiring former reliever Craig Stammen as their next manager, agreeing to terms with him on a three-year contract.
Stammen was a member of the San Diego bullpen from 2017-22 and retired in 2023 after suffering a shoulder injury in Spring Training.
The 2026 season will mark Stammen’s third with the Padres in a coaching staff/front office role. He was previously hired as special assistant, Major League staff and baseball operations following his retirement as a player.
