CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Carrie Weiser, 36, has been sentenced for the murder of Scott Myers in 2021. On Thursday, Judge Charles Tailleur sentenced Weiser to 20 years to life in prison.
On November 27, 2021, Catskill police officers responded to an apartment on West Bridge Street in the village for reports of a stabbing to 68-year-old Scott Myers. Weiser was reportedly found in the apartment, covered in blood.
Police said she was accused of using a knife to fatally stab Myers on the left side of the neck and severing his carotid artery. She was indicted by a grand jury in December 2021, but her trial did not begin until June 2024.
Officials said at trial, her lawyers argued Myers tried to rape her and was defending herself against Myers. The Greene County District Attorney's Office sai
