Joseph Kosinski is in early talks with Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler to star in his big-screen reboot of “ Miami Vice .” Speaking at the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards, Kosinski, who was there to present to the “F1” sound team, opened up about why the two would be an ideal fit for their respective roles.

“Michael is someone I’ve admired for a long time, [and] always wanted to work with him. Austin, I think, is proving himself as someone to watch. Again, I’ve just have really admired his choices,” he said. “If it ends up being those two, I’d be very lucky.”

As previously reported, Jordan would play Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs , while Butler would play James “Sonny” Crockett.
