STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Verrazano Kiwanis Club has partnered with Dapper Cats Barber Shop and the 122nd Precinct Community Council to launch its inaugural holiday food drive, offering Staten Islanders multiple ways to donate non-perishable food items to those in need this season.

As an incentive, Dapper Cats of Great Kills is offering a 10% discount on haircuts to customers who bring food donations to its shop at 4011 Hylan Blvd.

Organizers are collecting a wide range of non-perishable items, including canned goods, pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, cereal and baking mixes. Suggested donations also include condiments, salad dressings, sugar, sauces, gravy, cooking oils, coffee, tea, cocoa, juices, crackers, snacks, cookies and boxed Jell-O.
