LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) announced on Thursday that they're working to update November benefit amounts for recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) through updated criteria from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
According to the Arkansas DHS, the department is looking at updated guidelines that the USDA provided. DHS said they're working to provide the benefits as quick as they can but said that the "process requires significant work that is ongoing, and no issuance date has yet been finalized."
The Arkansas DHS said that furloughs and office closures that were set to take effect after Friday — which would have impacted over 1,500 workers — will be deferred due to the USDA providing administrative fund
