Despite the federal government shutdown, active-duty military members have been paid through October 31st.

But will they get paid November 15th?

U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Missouri, told Missourinet he doubts it.

“I don’t know how they can. There’s no money,” he said. “I mean, listen, nobody’s (going to) get paid. The air traffic controllers are not getting paid. The FBI agents, our Border Patrol agents, our ICE agents, other federal law enforcement (are) not getting paid. People who need food assistance, the needy – not getting it.”

Hawley also said there is currently no temporary work-around or other source of income that he’s aware of that would allow the armed forces to receive their paychecks by next weekend.
