GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The newest fuzzy face at the John Ball Zoo, Juniper the snow leopard, is officially available for public viewing in her habitat with her mom, Yuki.
The zoo said in a Facebook post announcing Junie's public debut on Thursday that she may be tricky to spot as she finds her new favorite hiding places, holding true to her nickname as the "ghost of the mountain."
The zoo announced Juniper's birth on Aug. 1, and said it was "a big win" for the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan (SSP), which aims to bolster the snow leopard population.
While Juniper was still growing behind the scenes at the zoo, updates were posted on social media to keep the community in the know about her "spicy" personality and her fierce, fuzzy face.
