NORRISTOWN — A New Jersey man was sent to prison and has a hefty restitution bill for defrauding a King of Prussia woman, his former romantic partner, of more than $180,000 under the guise that he would invest the money to earn her a profit.
William Colon Valencia, 57, of Hackensack, N.J., was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 5-to-20-years in a state correctional institution, to be followed by 20 years of probation, in connection with the fraud and theft that occurred between March 2021 and February 2023.
During a one-day trial in August, a jury convicted Valencia of multiple felony charges of theft by deception and receiving stolen property in connection with the fraud scheme.
Judge Risa Vetri Ferman, who presided over the trial, also ordered Valencia to pay the King of Prussia
