Woodrow Lowe , a former Alabama football linebacker and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, has died, per multiple reports. He was 71.

Lowe was a three-time first-team All-American from 1973-75. He set a Crimson Tide single-season record with 134 tackles in 1973and was a team captain as a senior. In four seasons, Lowe won four SEC championships with football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.

He finished his career with 315 tackles before becoming a fifth-round pick of the San Diego Chargers in the 1976 NFL draft. He played 11 seasons and started 163 games at linebacker.

Lowe was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame in 2009 and is one of 21 players to be named to the Hall.
