The Porterville City Council began its meeting this week by recognizing two local standouts — one from inside the Porterville Fire Department and one from the heart of the downtown business community — honoring a firefighter for his dedication to service and a long-standing quilt shop that has become a creative cornerstone in the city.
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: FIREFIGHTER ALEXIS AONE
Fire Chief Bryan Cogburn introduced Porterville Firefighter Alexis Aone as the City of Porterville’s Employee of the Month, highlighting his five and a half years of service with the department and a career rooted in giving back to his community.
Aone began firefighting in 2018 with the U.S. Forest Service before completing two seasons with Cal Fire. He also gained emergency medical experience with Imperial A
