HOUSTON – A major freeway project on Houston’s Interstate-10 that was expected to begin construction on Friday has been delayed again, TxDOT announced this week.

TxDOT’s $400 million White Oak Bayou Elevation Project was expected to shrink part of I-10 to just two lanes between I-45 and Houston Avenue, and Houstonians will now have to wait longer for this expected spike in gridlock.

The partial closure was originally slated to begin on Oct. 24 but was first delayed by two weeks to Nov. 7. A new date for the beginning of the project has not been provided at this time.
