DESOTO PARISH, La. (KALB) - A driver from Natchitoches was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-49 early Wednesday morning, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers responded to reports of the crash on I-49 near Hwy 177 around 4:30 a.m. LSP said a tractor-trailer overturned on the road due to heavy fog, which caused a series of additional crashes along the interstate.
Lawrence Irchirl , 50, of Natchitoches, was driving a 2002 Ford F-350 and collided with an 18-wheeler parked on the road, causing a fatal crash. Irchirl was wearing a seatbelt but was pronounced dead at the scene.
