A sex offender fled a Nashville sheriff’s office and apparently hid in a hospital Thursday, prompting a lockdown at the medical facility, officials said.

The Nashville police and Williamson County deputies were pursuing the suspect Thursday morning when he reportedly ran into the Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West to hide, according to WSMV .

The lockdown was lifted when authorities failed to locate him inside the hospital.
