LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo Police established a Community Service Unit to improve ordinance enforcement and uphold community standards throughout the city.
The new division integrates 14 non-commissioned personnel who formerly operated as City Ordinance Officers. The unit will provide a unified approach to ordinance enforcement under the police department’s oversight.
The unit will focus on violations, including illegal short-term rental swimming pool homes, parking violations, handicap parking enforcement, abandoned vehicles, abandoned homes, overgrown lots and other quality-of-life infractions outlined under city ordinances.
