A Hillsboro man is facing deportation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, despite recently receiving a work permit and visa eligibility, his attorneys and family say.
Victor Cruz-Gamez, who owns a local home remodeling business, had just finished another long day Oct. 14 when ICE agents pulled him over and arrested him in downtown Hillsboro, family members say.
ICE officers were apparently looking for another “Victor Cruz” with a history of drunk driving, according to Cruz-Gamez’s daughter, Atziri Cruz.
