WINONA, Minn. — Police responded to reports of gunshots on the 350 block of East Fifth Street around 9:03 a.m. on Thursday. The Winona Police Department says officers found shell casings in the road and gathered witness descriptions of a suspect. The suspect was located in a nearby home with a handgun and was taken into custody without any issues. No gunshot victims have been reported, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Investigators remain at the scene to continue their work. The Winona Police Department thanked the community for their cooperation in maintaining safety.
