PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A residential fire in Hillsboro displaced a family and their three dogs early Thursday morning, according to Hillsboro Fire and Rescue.

Crews responded to the home near 600 NE Evergreen Road after residents reported hearing smoke alarms around 4 a.m. The residents later told officials they evacuated when they saw flames in the home’s living room.

When firefighters arrived, they reported that smoke was coming out of the house and called for more assistance. The blaze was knocked down from the inside of the home, where it started, while other firefighters searched for any occupants or pets in the house.
