PARK RIDGE, Ill. — Police in Park Ridge are searching for two suspects who attempted to carry out a burglary while the homeowners were inside the residence.

The incident happened around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Brophy Avenue.

According to police, the victims heard someone outside shouting that there was a fire and instructed them to exit the house.

Police said the victims looked outside and saw two male offenders standing near the rear door of the residence. The offenders then threw an object through the glass door and were about to enter the home, but were confronted by one of the victims.

The offenders fled the area and were last seen running northbound, police said.
