The Orlando area wound up with four No. 1 seeds in the upcoming state football playoffs after brackets were released by the Florida State High School Athletics Association on Thursday.
DeLand in Class 7A Region 1; Edgewater in 5A Region 2; Jones in 4A Region 2 and Bishop Moore in 3A Region 2 all earned tops seeds, based on FHSAA power rankings. They will have guaranteed home-field advantage through the three rounds of regional play finals. Region quarterfinals kick off the postseason next week.
DeLand and Edgewater actually earned the overall No. 1 rankings for their classes heading into the five weeks of playoff action.
