SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A local organization is taking significant steps to help families in need of stability and a second chance.
The Hyssop Care Foundation, led by Executive Director Alex T. Ray, has launched a $2 million campaign to build Grace Point Apartments, a 12-unit transitional housing complex designed to support families experiencing homelessness.
Ray, who has long worked to assist Shreveport’s homeless population, says the project will give families including single mothers a place to stay for up to three years while they rebuild their lives. Each unit will include two bedrooms, one bathroom, central air and heat, and washer/dryer connections.
