Anthony Hemingway is calling for order in the court.

The All’s Fair director defended the Hulu legal drama—which stars Kim Kardashian , Niecy Nash-Betts , Sarah Paulson , Teyana Taylor , Glenn Close , and Naomi Watts as divorce lawyers—over the negative reaction the show has garnered since its Nov. 4 premiere.

“You’re not going to please everybody,” Anthony, 48, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Nov. 5. “You may have certain criticisms, while there are a million others who love it. I think the show holds a mirror up to each person who watches it. It’s just about: Can you connect to it or relate to it, and see yourself?”
