The Toronto Blue Jays got a later start than most on making their end-of-season roster decisions.
While playing in the World Series, the Blue Jays essentially had their entire 40-man roster on standby, even if many of those players were highly unlikely to be needed. After losing Game 7 on Saturday, they had only until Thursday to activate players from the 60-day injured list and cut the resulting roster back down to 40 again.
A few players were bound to be casualties, and one of those casualties was right-handed pitcher Dillon Tate, who may have left the Blue Jays for good on Thursday.
