DENVER (KDVR) — And then there was one.

On Thursday morning, the San Diego Padres hired Craig Stammen as their manager in a three-year deal, ESPN reports.

While the hiring of Stammen in San Diego, over 1,000 miles away from Colorado, has no immediate impact here, it now means that of the 10 teams that entered the offseason without a manager, the Colorado Rockies are the lone team still without one.

Another thing all of those teams have in common is that they finished with at least 66 wins — the Washington Nationals, the lowest of the nine — a number the Rockies were a staggering 23 wins away from.

With a new manager at each of the nine teams, a new direction has been established, something the Rockies, who were substantially the worst team in the MLB, desperately need.
