SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (KTRE) - A San Augustine County jury has found a man guilty in the kidnapping, beating and death of a Nacogdoches man.

According to District Attorney Paul Robbins, it took the jury 25 minutes to return a verdict of guilty against Bryan Johnson on a charge of capital murder . Johnson receives an automatic sentence of life without parole.

Aaron Ainsworth was kidnapped and killed on April 4, 2021.

Texas Rangers and Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office investigators interviewed David Earl Whitehead at the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office on April 7, 2021.
