NEW BEDFORD – A 10-year “blueprint” touching on all major aspects of city life, from housing to neighborhoods, was unveiled by Mayor Jon Mitchell during a Nov. 6 city hall press conference.
The “Citywide Comprehensive Plan: Strategy for the Next Decade” builds on the city’s progress, Mitchell said. The updated 10-year plans are mandated by the state.
“We live in a time when government at many levels, especially at the federal government but in many other places, is primarily performative. It’s about demonizing folks or about enflaming problems and saying who’s at fault,” he said.
