A death investigation has been launched by Maryland State Police after skeletal remains were found off I-70 in Frederick.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, Natural Resources Police officers found a body in the woods near I-70 and Green Valley Road in Frederick, authorities said.
Investigators from the Criminal Enforcement Division and the Homicide Unit responded. State Police crime scene technicians from the Forensic Sciences Division processed the area for evidence.
Neither the identity nor the sex of the person has been determined as investigators await autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.
The case remains under investigation by the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack.
