WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - A Belhaven man is facing several charges after a boat was broken into on the Washington Waterfront.

Washington police have charged Stephen Foster with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony possessing stolen goods.

Police were alerted to the boat break-in at the Washington Waterfront Docks on Sunday. The owner of the boat died a couple of days before the break-in, police confirm.

Warrants say Foster took $3,000 worth of maritime electronics from the boat.

The 37-year-old man was arrested within 48 hours, police say. He is being held without bond pending his first court appearance.
