PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland International Airport is listed as one of the potential 40 "high volume" markets that will see a 10% air reduction cuts during the government shutdown, according to a list obtained by NBC News.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Bryan Bedford announced the cuts Wednesday afternoon, saying the move would affect roughly 3,500 to 4,000 flights daily across the U.S.
The list of airports impacted could change as the FAA has not issued its final order.
Travelers at Portland International Airport Wednesday night moved quickly through security lines to their on-time departures with no delays or hold ups in sight.
But, come Friday, that could be a different story, when the cuts are expected to take place.
