ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A man has been sentenced to prison time after being found guilty of two counts of second-degree attempted murder with a weapon.
According to the First Judicial Circuit of Florida news release, Jacobia Ladraina Newberry was sentenced to 25 years in prison after a jury found him guilty.
Officials said Pensacola Police Department officers were called to a home on West Blount Street on Aug. 3, 2024, where two people were found with life-threatening stab wounds.
Officers found Newberry with a cut finger and claimed he stabbed one of the people in self-defense.
