COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Two College Station Police Officers have been presented with Lifesaving Awards for helping to save a driver's life following a crash in May.

The College Station Police Department said Officers Leon and Nickelson came upon a four-vehicle crash on Hwy 105 and FM 249 in Grimes County while off-duty on May 5, 2025. Though the two were off duty, Leon and Nickelson "did not hesitate to act," the department said, immediately stepping in to help those involved.

The two officers first found a motorcyclist lying face down in the grass with their motorcycle fully engulfed in flames, the police department said.
