KINGSTON, N.Y. — Kingston High senior Micayla Sandy has grown up being a Buffalo Bills fan. After committing to play girls flag football next season at SUNY Geneseo, Sandy will be playing about an hour away from her favorite team.
“I love football and I love watching it,” Sandy said in an interview with the Freeman at her Kingston residence at Florence Street on Wednesday, Nov. 5. “I see this as a great opportunity to continue playing flag (football) in college.”
Sandy has been a versatile two-way player for the Kingston High flag football team since her freshman year. Last season for the Tigers, Sandy played wide receiver and running back on offense and defensive back on defense. She also returned punts.
On defense last spring in her junior season, Sandy had 50 flag pulls, three sacks
